Interfaith Ministers fall into the category of non-conformist (alongside Rabbis, Catholic Priests and any other non Anglican clergy) and as such operate legally independently of the State.

In England, the legal aspect of wedding ceremonies must take place in a registered building. The Interfaith Fellowship has a few such listed buildings, however the majority of couples choose to have the ceremony performed in a place that is personally meaningful to them, with the signing of documents held at a registry office.

Funerals and memorial ceremonies are spiritual services, requiring no legal interaction whatsoever. The registering of deaths is handled by the funeral directors or crematorium (who will be in liaison with myself).

A blessing, naming or christening ceremony is purely a private spiritual ceremony, having nothing to do with the state.
